Continuing education courses at CDE
CDE offers two certificate courses:
CAS People-Centred Humanitarian Aid: Shaping the future of humanitarian aid together
In the past decades, humanitarian crises have risen in number and complexity. The international humanitarian system is facing new challenges and undergoing major changes. But how can we respond accordingly? This course – People-Centred Humanitarian Aid – offers insight into important trends and practical advice on how to implement good practices.
It provides an interactive open learning process based on concrete case studies. The course is aimed at both experienced and junior professionals and supports peer learning and future network building. Three cross-cutting issues – participation, the humanitarian–development nexus, and innovation – are to be part of a contemporary humanitarian approach that places the people affected by crisis at the centre of attention.
CAS Sustainable Development: Knowledge – a key to the implementation of Agenda 2030
Sustainability is a big promise: of a good life for all people – today and in the future, in the North and in the South. At the same time, sustainability is an enormous challenge: Currently dominant practices and courses of action harm our resources. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is our reference framework for joint solutions.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies on Sustainable Development provides participants with a solid basis in knowledge for sustainable development, offers space for reflection, and reveals tailored solutions for implementation. They learn to recognise different understandings of sustainable development, to reflect critically on them and to build bridges between the various actors and their approaches. Individual modules may also be taken as training courses on specific themes.
