“We have to do a better job of tapping the synergies between the three Rio Conventions” It is far less in the public eye than its sister conventions on climate change and biodiversity, but no less important: the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The goal is to halt desertification, land degradation, and drought, and to preserve land for future generations. WOCAT, a global network supports this endeavour by providing best-practice examples of sustainable land management.
