Field of activity
Areas of professional focus at CDE
I am a member and the coordinator of our small editing and translation team. The bulk of my work is editing English texts written by non-native speakers of English. Sometimes I also translate texts from German or Russian into English, and occasionally from either language into German. From time to time I coordinate the production of entire publications, from planning to language editing, layout, and proofreading. Finally, as the assistant editor of Mountain Research and Development – an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal edited at CDE – I manage our website and everyday relations with publishing and indexing partners. I enjoy the multifaceted nature of my job, especially the wide variety of texts I work with: research papers, project proposals, reports, web pages, position papers, monographs, edited volumes, and many more. My favourite topics are social and natural phenomena, and many texts I edit or translate happen to cover both. But most of all, I love the challenge of writing for different audiences and helping to make my colleagues’ writing more stylish.
