CDE to host Global Environments Summer Academy 2013

16/11/2012
From 27 July to 18 August 2013, CDE will host the third Global Environments Summer Academy on Socio-ecological Interactions in a Dynamic World. It aims to enhance the knowledge, networking, and communication skills of postgraduate students concerned about the human dimensions of environmental challenges. Online applications accepted until 15 January 2013.

Held annually and co-organised by the Global Diversity Foundation (US and UK) and the Rachel Carson Center (Munich, Germany), the Summer Academy focuses on topics such as biocultural diversity, environmental history, political ecology, sustainability studies, and personal activism. International and multidisciplinary faculty support participants in improving their understanding of policy, developing their academic insights and competency, and transcending their disciplinary and place-based boundaries.

The course convenors select 18-20 Masters/PhD students or professionals from around the world who have the capacity to become future environmental leaders in academic, civil society, corporate, or governmental institutions.
