Can mining by transnational companies be part of a sustainable development? Why do social conflicts seem to be inseparably linked to mining? What are the responsibilities of international mining companies based in Switzerland? These are the central questions that José de Echave, former Deputy Minister of the Environment in Peru and founder of the NGO CooperAcción, will explore at an event jointly organised by MultiWatch, InfoE, and CDE.
