Use of geospatial data has grown rapidly. It enables analysis and visualisation of spatiotemporal interactions, benefitting science and projects on the ground. Proper management of geospatial data is critical, especially in interdisciplinary, international collaborations. From 31 October to 2 November 2013, the University of Bern is holding a workshop on geospatial data exchange, metadata tools, and archiving facilities. A public lecture on day one will focus on “HyperCities” – real cities overlaid with a rich array of geodata (history, personal stories, etc.).
