CDE runs activities with a regional or national focus in 32 countries worldwide. Key regions are Eastern Africa; mainland Southeast Asia, especially Lao PDR and Myanmar, and in South America, the central Andes and the Amazon basin. Many of CDE’s projects and programmes are part of a long-term engagement in these regions. In addition, growing recognition that sustainable development is a global responsibility is also increasingly drawing attention to the role of Europe and Switzerland and their interactions with the global South.
Research for sustainable development requires continuity and engagement in dialogue with policymakers and society. Our long-term institutional partners and pluralistic networks increase the impact of our research, help to anchor it in the sociopolitical context, and enhance its legitimacy in particular among decision-makers.
The countries marked in green are CDE's key partner regions.
The other marked countries show our further project activities in 2020.
