The Europe-wide “Researchers’ Night” took place this year on Friday 23 September 2011, from 5 pm to midnight. CDE’s stand and tents were prominently located in front of the entrance to the main university building. The Centre’s contribution on “Research on sustainable land use in Kenya and Laos” included the following:
- A Kenya tent with information about CDE’s research activities in Laikipia, Kenya
- A Laos tent with information about CDE’s research activities in the country
- A studio tent in which visitors can Skype with CDE research teams in Laos (5 pm to 8 pm) and Kenya (8 pm to midnight) about their work
- A quiz game featuring questions and answers on land use in Kenya and Laos
- A presentation on “Land that benefits everyone” (“Land, das allen nützt”) by Gudrun Schwilch (11 pm, lecture hall 114, 1st floor of the main university building)
